Join us as a Trustee –
Are you passionate about supporting unpaid carers in Wiltshire and Dorset? We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic trustees to help shape the future of our charity! As a trustee, you’ll steer our strategic direction, work closely with our senior leadership team, and ensure we’re making a real difference. We’d especially love to hear from you if you have expertise in health and social care, income generation, marketing and communications, and volunteer management – though this isn’t an exhaustive list!
Some of the key responsibilities of a Trustee include:
– Set and monitor our goals and strategic plans
– Ensure we comply with all legal and regulatory standards
– Safeguard the charity’s finances and prevent fraud
– Attend approximately 4 board meetings a year

Communications Officer
Geographical area: Dorset
Working arrangements: Remote/hybrid working, with an expectation to travel and attend team meetings where required
Hours of work: PT/FT hours available; some evening and weekend work
Pay scale: £26,000
Contract: 1 year with possibility of extension
Are you passionate about communications and making a difference? At Carer Support Dorset, we’re on the lookout for a dynamic Communications Officer to help us grow our digital audience and enhance our engagement across social media and our website! In this exciting role, you’ll have the chance to amplify our core programmes and services through innovative campaigns that increase awareness and encourage active participation, and get creative by developing and designing marketing materials that showcase the fantastic services we provide to our community!
Some key duties and responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of marketing and communication plans to promote CSD campaigns,
volunteering and fundraising products to our target audiences. - Liaise with colleagues to develop, edit, create and quality control accessible content for the
websites. - Work closely with teams across the organisation to develop and edit content for roster of
external digital and print newsletters. - Coordinate a calendar of social media and website activity, including day-to-day social media
interaction and audience engagement. - Support communications plans to grow carer engagement and alignment with CSD’s values and
mission.

Carer Advisor
Geographical Area: Dorset
Hours of Work: Full time vacancy – 37 hours a week including occasional weekend/evening. Part time vacancy – 17 hours a week including occasional weekend/evening
Grade: £27,000 (FT Pro Rata)
In this role, you’ll connect with carers, attend community support services, deliver engaging carer awareness presentations, showcase our services at networking events, and facilitate GP Carer Clinics. We are looking for someone who has a commitment to our mission and values, integrity and the highest professional standards, and a confidential and sensitive approach to all information. Flexibility is key, as you may occasionally take on other tasks in line with our goals.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and referrals from both carers and professionals, providing information, support, and advice.
- Attend networking events, community venues, and GP surgeries to promote our services and offer information, advice, and guidance to carers.
- Deliver carer awareness sessions and presentations to other organisations, professionals, and groups where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed records of all interactions, and update the Dorset Carer Register.
