We have been hard at work over the last few months to create our very own glossy Christmas magazine especially for unpaid carers in Wiltshire and Dorset.
It has:
- Christmas book recommendations (including romances, thrillers, historical & horror hits!)
- Fun Christmas recipes (including spiced apple & gingerbread crumble pots & a festive mocktail suitable for the whole family!)
- Information on our Here to Talk service that is here to help anyone feeling lonely or isolated in the lead up to Christmas
- Our exclusive Christmas quiz with easy, medium and hard questions. (From mistletoe to Icelandic giants, our quiz will test your knowledge of Yuletide celebrations from every corner of the globe!)
- Get creative with our Christmas craft DIY’s – cheap and easy, these creations are perfect fun for everyone!
- Peruse our one of a kind accessible gift-guide! This guide celebrates everyone – from thoughtful ideas for people who are hard of hearing, to gifts designed for those who are neurodivergent – every suggestion has been chosen with care and accessibility in mind
- We also have our Carer Money Matters guide to getting holiday ready – with tips on how to cut the costs this season to how to ensure a debt-free start to the new year
- Amongst many, many more interesting & fun articles just waiting to be read!
We sent over 1200 of these magazine to individual households registered with us, who let us know they wanted to receive letters from us! We have also been busy dropping them off at local businesses, supermarkets & community spaces around Wiltshire and Dorset, and we have received some incredible feedback!
One anonymous carer commented; “I just wanted to say that receiving my copy of the Carers Christmas Chronicle… this afternoon made my day. What a wonderful surprise to receive and I wanted to let me know how much I appreciate you sending me such a wonderful magazine. The thought and care you all clearly put into it was so evident and made me emotional… The recipes, crafts, The QUIZ (OMG) all made me so excited for Christmas with my son who I care for. Just knowing you are there if I need support means the world.”
While another said that it was really lovely and they loved the fact it was not just an e-mail and they could hold the magazine and look through the pages as it’s much easier than reading an e-mail, it has more impact!
Another carer said; “Back to the Chronicle! Absolutely beautiful! In my opinion! Well put together, lots of information, glossy finish, very well though of, very festive and heart warming. I am really and truly enjoying the contents. A huge thank you to one and all, who took the time out to design it. Once more! A big thank you to you all.”
If you haven’t been able to get your hands on a copy and would like to be sent one FREE of charge simply get in touch with us! We will happily pop one in the post for you! Email us on admin@carersupportwiltshire.co.uk to get yours!
