Carer Support Wiltshire and Dorset’s CEO Judy Walker will be leaving the charity in early November, after four years’ service. The charity assists unpaid carers, providing support and advice to those who care for someone.

During her time as CEO, Judy oversaw an expansion of carer support services into Dorset, the Covid response to people who were among the most isolated and took strides in increasing awareness and support for the unpaid carers in our communities.

Judy says: “Being CEO and leading Carer Support Wiltshire and Dorset has meant such a lot to me, but after four years it is time to move on.

“During my time, we have established Carer Support Dorset, which celebrates its third anniversary next month, and we continue to be the lead carer support organisation in Wiltshire.

“I would like to thank past and present funders and commissioners in Dorset and Wiltshire, and leaders in partner organisations for their strong support of what we do, and for their desire to achieve more for carers by working together with us.

“Lastly, I would like to say a big thank you to past and present staff and volunteers, including trustees, many of whom are carers, for all they have given and continue to give the charity. Their dedication, energy and passion ensure carers are at the heart of what we do, and I am proud of how they make a significant difference to carers’ lives.

“I wish Carer Support in Dorset and Wiltshire every success as they continue to grow and so meet the needs of more carers.”

Liz Brown, Chair of the board of trustees says: “On behalf of all of us, I’d like to thank Judy for her hard work and commitment to the charity and wish her the best of luck for the future.”

Following consultation with the Chair and Vice Chair of Trustees, Leanne Hubbard has been appointed as interim CEO. Leanne was previously Head of Fundraising and Partnerships for the charity. Marco van-Tintelen, formerly Head of Operations, will take up the role of interim COO. Leanne and Marco are pictured above.
